Authority faces flak for poor infrastructure in Noida villages

Garbage dumps on village roads was one of the major concerns
NOIDA: The Noida Village Residents Association (NOVRA) met the Noida Authority officials on Wednesday to complain about persistent civic problems like poor roads and incomplete sewerage lines in several villages.
Ranjan Tomar, president, NOVRA said, “We met Noida Authority officials and informed them about a road in Chhalera which has been the main cause of waterlogging for past two years. Also most of the streets in the village have broken roads. Moreover, there’s a need of sewer connection to the main line in Rohillapur village which sees sewers overflow. We also requested an open air gym in Nangli Wazidpur village in Sector 135, swings for kids in government primary school and animal birth control drives in the villages of Noida.”
Residents of Sector Beta 1 also wrote to the CEO of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority Narendra Bhooshan on unattended garbage in the area, broken roads and unkempt parks with overgrown trees, shrubs and grass.

“We’ve also raised the issue of overflowing sewers and silted drains and debris lying across the sector. There are open pits at many places with tall grass surrounding them that have become a threat. There is a risk of mosquitoes breeding in the area in the absence of anti-larva spray,” said Harinder Bhati, general secretary of the RWA of Sector Beta 1.
The GNIDA CEO reassured them. “All officials have been directed to address the issues at the earliest, failing which strict action will be taken,” he said.
