The Indian benchmarks reached their biggest intraday gains on Thursday. The BSE Sensex gained by 637 points and closed at 37,327.36 and NSE Nifty at 11,032, up by 176.95 points.
Among stocks, HCL Tech gained by 4.4% to trade at Rs 1,067.60 per share. Bharti Infratel was up by 2.8%, Bharti Airtel by 1.9%, Hero MotoCorp by 1.7% and Tata Motors by 1.6%.
However, Tata Steel was down by 3.5% to Rs 368.40 per share. Cipla, IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra and Asian Paints were among other prominent losers.
On Wednesday, BSE Sensex fell by 286 points and closed at 36,691 after the RBI announced the rate cut. And Nifty fell by 93 points to 10,856.
