Punjab: Man makes suicide note viral, threatens to jump off water tank

LUDHIANA: The police were on toes on Wednesday evening when a Manakwal resident made his suicide note viral accusing three cops of harassing him over his property dispute.
The man stated that he would commit suicide on August 8, at 2pm, by jumping off a water tank in his locality. As soon as the suicide note went viral, the police came into action.
The man was identified as Jaswant Singh of Jot Enclave, village Manakwal. In a two-page suicide note, handwritten in Punjabi language, the man has accused a DSP-rank official, one inspector and one ASI for harassing him in his property dispute case. He has also accused the cops of seeking bribe and recording statement against him. He also demanded action against these cops in the suicide note.


When contacted, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP-2) Jaskiranjit Singh said, "The matter has come to my notice. I have asked officials to take preventive action on it."
