Cash valuables worth Rs 23.37L stolen from 11 shops

Rajkot: Burglars targeted 11 shops at Junagadh Market Yard in Daulatpara locality and stole Rs 13.37 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh on Tuesday night.
The CCTV footage of the incident shows two thieves, who had covered their faces, sneaking into the market yard. “They broke the shutters of the shops and got inside to commit the theft. One of the shopkeepers had stored jewellery of his relatives in the safe, which the burglars took away,” said P G Jadeja, Junagadh deputy superintendent of police.
“We have formed four teams of special operation group, local crime branch and A division police station to trace the accused. We are taking the help of CCTV footage of the incident. We are also checking the location of the cellphone numbers that were active near the crime spot at the time of the incident,” added Jadeja.
