KOTA: An argument over blaring DJ music at a birthday party in Pidawa town of Jhalawar turned bloody when a 26-year-old youth was shot dead late on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Rishiraj Agrawal, a cloth trader, while the accused have been identified as Alim Hussain and his three sons Imran, Khalid and Anwar, police said on Tuesday.
Police have booked all four accused, who are absconding.
Agarwal had gone to attend a birthday party with his three friends at a resort, about 1km from Pidawa town.
Around 10.30pm, members of a family residing near the resort objected to blaring music at the party. The argument soon turned into a scuffle between the neighbouring family and the four friends at the birthday party, said Ram Kishan, SHO, Pidawa police station.
"During the scuffle, Imran opened fire with his country-made pistol that hit Agarwal in his chest, killing him on the spot," the SHO said.
He added that the accused youth allegedly shot around 3-4 fires and one cartridge penetrated Agrawal's chest.
Agrawal was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead, said police.
"Imran was released from jail in January this year following a 15-year sentence for murder," the SHO said. Police have registered a case under IPC sections 302, 147 and 149.
Teams have been fanned out to suspected locations to trace the accused.

Agrawal's body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem by the medical board on Tuesday.
The deceased's family protested in the town demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
