PORVORIM:
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the government has decided to extend the maximum age limit from 24 years to 28 years for 1300
posts of police constables that will be filled shortly.
Sawant on Wednesday told the House that are many who wish to join the
police force but they may not fulfil the age criteria. “For them, we will relax the age limit,” he said.
The posts will be advertised in a month’s time; it will take about five months to complete the recruitment process, he said.
MGP MLA Ramkrishna Dhavalikar pointed out that a lengthy recruitment process affects the chances of candidates joining the department.
