AMARAVATI: TDP national general secretary
Nara Lokesh has alleged that
Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS
Jaganmohan Reddy had rushed to New Delhi as he was stunned by the reports about the anger of the Centre following the cancellation of Polavaram contract, now going for PPAs review.
He said that the CM had left the people in the flood-hit areas in Godavari districts to their fate and was busy with personal tours.
He found fault with Jagan for not making a visit to the marooned areas even after returning from the holidaying.
Lokesh along with party legislators Ramanaidu and Dokka Manikyavaraprasad visited several flood-ravaged villages in West Godavari district on Wednesday. He toured Marteru, Koderu, Achanta, Vemavaram and Gummaluru villages of Achanta constituency and interacted with the
flood victims.
He had also visited Vardhiparru, Kambhotlapalem, Gumparru, Doddipatla, Agarripalem, Velivela villages of Palkole and Mallavaram, Mallavaram Lanka, Saripalle, Gondi, Chittavaram villages of Narsapuram constituency.
Speaking to media during the visit, Lokesh said that the state government had brought the entire developmental activity to a grinding halt in the guise of inquiries.
He said that the government left the people to their fate as CM was busy settling his own cases and personal issues.
He expressed shock about the poor flood relief and rehabilitation measures initiated by the state government. He said that the state government had failed to make an assessment of the flood situation ahead of the flood ravaging the villages.
Lokesh said that entire state administration right from the CMO to the mandal level used to be on high alert when Chandrababu Naidu was at the help in the last five years.
He said that district and field level officials have also turned negligent to take up relief and rehabilitation measures after seeing Jagan going on holidaying even after knowing about the flood situation.
Lokesh said that crops in about 50,000 acres were damaged in West Godavari district alone and the state government was solely responsible for the damage. He said that each farmer received about Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per acre loss due to the sudden floods in the district.
He demanded that the state government should at least release the kerosene and rice to the flood victims on war footing basis.
Lokesh criticized Jagan for neglecting the capital city Amaravati. He said that Jagan was deliberately trying to harm the interests of the farmers who parted with their precious land for the capital city construction.
