Share market update: Private bank shares gain; YES Bank jumps 6%

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 15,700.65 around 12:28 pm.

NEW DELHI: Shares of Private banks were trading higher in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of YES Bank (up 6.03 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 2.60 per cent), IDFC First Bank (up 1.08 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 0.94 per cent) were trading higher.

Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.82 per cent), DCB Bank (up 0.62 per cent) and Federal Bank (up 0.34 per cent) too were trading with gains.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 15,700.65 around 12:28 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 6.75 points at 10,955 while the BSE Sensex was up 55.60 points at 37,032.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB, Dish TV India, Tata Motors, ZEEL, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
