NEW DELHI: A manhunt has been launched for a gang of burglars who were targeting houses in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj since the last few weeks. The suspects can be seen on CCTV footage accessed by cops.
Residents of the C3 block in Vasant Kunj told cops that off late, there had been a spate of burglaries and failed attempts in the houses. Upon conducting an inquiry of their own, the residents found footage where the burglars were spotted.
In one such video, two men are seen walking through the staircase of the building. One of them is then caught trying to cover the camera with his shirt. He is seen jumping in front of the camera and after half a dozen attempts, manages to cover it. The gang then proceeds to break into houses whose residents away. Police officers said that they received a complaint and investigation has been initiated. The police are analysing the footage and the images have been circulated with local informers to identify the suspects.
