Production has begun on Netflix's new series adaptation of Ann M. Martin's The Baby-Sitter's Club books, and the streaming service has finally revealed two of the show's stars: Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein.

Netflix announced Tuesday that Silverstone will star as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the mother of BSC founder Kristy Thomas. Feuerstein will play her love interest, Watson Brewer.

Silverstone is, of course, best known for her role as Cher Horowitz in Clueless (as if anyone could forget), but she also recently starred in the short-lived Paramount Network comedy series American Woman. Feuerstein is known for his turn as Hank Lawson in USA Network's Royal Pains but has since enjoyed guest roles in Prison Break, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, and a cameo voice role in BoJack Horseman.

The series is expected to be a "contemporary" adaptation of the beloved '90s teen book series, which centers on Kristy and her four friends -- Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer -- whose childcare business brings them together as they experience the nuances of adolescence and their individual home lives. Netflix has ordered a 10-episode freshman season.

The single-camera family series is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada, with GLOW's Rachel Shukert as showrunner, Lucy Kitada and Naia Cucukov as executive producers, and Lucia Aniello as director and executive producer. Original book series writer Ann M. Martin also serves as a producer.

Netflix's The Baby-Sitters Club series is just the latest adaptation of Martin's books. The series also spawned a Disney Channel TV series (available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video) and a 1995 movie (streaming on Amazon Prime Video with subscription).
