GUNTUR: Stating that
TDP will extend its fullest support to all those who fight against the anti-people policies of YSRCP government, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has expressed anguish about government sacking thousands of employees from work.
He said the government is working with political vengeance and taking hasty decisions. He said that removal of thousands of contract and outsourced workers from the jobs was not a small issue and assured to join the protests.
Several people who lost jobs due to the closure of Anna Canteens and contract workers of horticulture department met Naidu here in the party office on Tuesday. They explained their ordeals after Jagan's coming into power to Naidu. They alleged that Jagan had ditched them by terminating them from the work.
Addressing the gathering, Naidu said that it was sadistic move to close down Anna canteens across the state despite knowing that it rendered nearly 20,000 people jobless. “What harm the canteens did to the government? It helped poor with food and unemployed people with work,” he said. He said that TDP leaders would join the protests if the Anna canteen workers hit the streets. He promised to exert pressure on the government to ensure the reopening of the canteens.
About 500 employees attached to the animal husbandry department told Naidu that they were also removed from the work without any notice. A worker in
Pulivendula agriculture market yard, T Munireddy said that they were also removed from the job due to the pressure from the local MP Avinash Reddy. Minority corporation chairman Md Hidayath led the group of Anna canteen victims who met Naidu.
Later addressing the party activists of Prattipadu constituency, Chandrababu Naidu appealed the farmers not to pay taxes till the state government waived off fourth and fifth instalment under the
loan waiver scheme. He said that it was the bounden duty of the government to continue the government schemes. He wondered as to how the state government could skip payment of the loan waiver scheme.
Interacting with the party leaders, Naidu said that the government had completely failed to manage the flood situation in the state. He criticized CM Jagan for not even visiting the flood-hit areas to take first-hand account of the situation. He said that they had managed nearly 24 lakh cusecs of flood during their regime while the present government could not even handle 10 lakh cusecs of flood. He said that blaming TDP government for submergence of the villages under Polavaram project exposes the failure of the state government. TDP state wing president Kala Venkata Rao, China Rajappa, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Nara Lokesh, Dokka Manikyavaraprasad and others were present.
