Proof, An American Canteen Presents American Pie Fights at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North

With the launch of its weekly American Pie Fights, the “Sweet Sixteen” takes on a whole new scrumptious meaning.  Known for its home-style comfort food, craft beer, bourbons and cocktails sourced exclusively from the fifty states, Proof continues its all-American traditions as freshly baked pies take centre stage this fall.

Each Saturday night, guests will be able to choose Proof’s most popular pie from a sweet sixteen selection. Each week’s competition will pair two pies for a race to the final four and finally to the championship culminating on the biggest pie day of all – Thanksgiving Day.

Freshly baked by Executive Pastry Chef Lance Whipple and his talented team, the scrumptious pie selections competing in the first round will be:

• August 24 – Georgia peach pie vs. key lime pie
• August 31 – Tennessee whiskey cherry pie vs. toasted s’mores pie
• September 7 – Bananas foster cream pie vs. lemon meringue pie
• September 14 – Strawberry rhubarb pie vs. chocolate Oreo pie
• September 21 – Washington apple crumb pie vs. chocolate caramel turtle pie
• September 28 – Piña Colada cream pie vs. apple walnut pie
• October 5 – Kentucky bourbon pecan pie vs. smoked chocolate chile pie
• October 12 – Speculoos pumpkin pie vs. caramelised pumpkin pie

The top eight challengers will move ahead through pie fights over four consecutive weeks: October 19, October 26, November 2 and November 9.  The final four will then advance on November 16 and November 23 with final tallies determining the two top finalists and ultimate winner on Thanksgiving Day, November 28.

Those who enter winning brackets in the Pie Fights will have the chance to win two pies to take home for Thanksgiving Day.
