This bold step is likely to impact business of the travel and tourism industry in the city as travelers may be a bit anxious about visiting the valley.
TOI spoke to tour operators and they came up with differing viewpoints. Ranjana Raghurti of AVM travels said, “We had more than twelve to thirteen people going to Kashmir this season. Clients book their tickets well in advance. Even though we have not received any queries or requests for cancellation, nothing can be predicted.”
Few citizens had already booked their tickets to enjoy a vacation in Jammu and Kashmir for the impending Diwali vacation as November and December are the best months to see the beauty of the valley “We did receive enquiries from customers but no cancellation We had a package of twelve to fourteen people in November. We also have a few bookings for Leh Ladakh,” said Rachna Patil, who operates Kesari Tours and Travels.
