A viral Twitter trend is challenging social media users to message their 'text' door neighbour - the person with a phone number one digit different to their own - and the results are hilarious.
The 'number neighbour' trend, which began in 2016, was repopularised last week when drummer Ryan Lavallee, from Colorado, shared a text conversation he had with a stranger.
His conversation, in which he was brutally rejected when he asked them to 'hang out', reignited the trend - and saw dozens of users contacting people whose phone numbers are one digit above or below their own.
Other Twitter users soon began sharing responses from their own 'text door neighbours' and, unsurprisingly, the results weren't always positive.
One stranger threatened to 'call the police' if the user didn't 'get out of their messages' - but others were more wholesome and even offered their number neighbours heartfelt relationship advice.
