Gold delivery on
MCX has hit a record high of 5158.8 kilos (5.15 tonnes) in the recent delivery cycle (August 5) . The figure includes kilo
gold futures and mini gold (100 gm) futures contracts .
The previous record high of 4898 kilos happened on Oct 5 2009.
Gold on MCX is a bi-monthly contract . Delivery is normally given and taken by refiners , bullion dealers and other jewellers , based on pay-in pay-out details on MCX .
The deliveries have happened with gold hitting record high prices of Rs 36332 per 10 gm (ex 3% GST) on the spot market based on
India Bullion & Jewellers Association (IBJA) closing rate on Tuesday .
