Vadodara: A former police informer who was arrested last month for planting a gun in a car and passing on false information to cops has sought bail from sessions court here.
The accused Deepak alias Jabbar Rajdharigiri was arrested on July 20 when the cops reinvestigated the case. Rajdharigiri, on being hired by realtor Narendra Shah, had planted country-made gun in the car of Sneh Patel, a resident of Gorwa. Shah wanted to get rid of Patel as the latter was asking for his late father’s share in a partnership firm that his father and Shah had before he died in 2010. After planting the gun in Patel’s car on July 18, Rajdhirigiri tipped-off local crime branch of Vadodara rural police about it. When cops could not get any evidence against Patel, they reinvestigated the case and found the truth.
On August 3, Rajdhirigiri had filed his bail application in the court pleading innocence in the case. However, Vadodara rural police submitted an affidavit in the court on Tuesday opposing his bail plea. Police informed the court that they have enough evidence against Rajdhirigiri and if he will be allowed bail, he will influence witnesses and tamper with evidence. The court will decide on his bail plea on Wednesday.
