Now, book hotel rooms from railway station

Nagpur: Passengers can now look forward to book their favourite hotel rooms at the railway station itself.
The Nagpur division has finalized an innovative idea contract with Oravel Stays Private Limited, popularly known as OYO Rooms, to set up a ‘tourist assistance booth’ by OYO Rooms at the station.
The booth will be operational 24x7 and shall be managed by executives deployed by OYO Rooms. This important passenger amenity will allow the railway passengers to book their favourite hotel rooms after getting down at Nagpur.
“This tie up of the national transporter with leading hotel room provider of India under the revolutionary New, Innovative Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (NINFRIS) policy of Railway Board is a win-win situation for both,” said senior divisional commercial manager (SrDCM) Krishnath Patil.
“The Central Railway will earn Rs 5 lakh per annum by leasing out 25sqft area for a year to set up the OYO Room Kiosk and Oravel will access the largest targeted customer to promote its business,” Patil added.

The proposal was received on August 5 at 10am and was examined by a committee consisting of Patil, senior divisional finance manager (SrDFM) Vijay T Kadam and divisional engineer (DEN) MK Siroliya. The approval was granted by DRM Somesh Kumar the same day.
“We are pragmatic and swift for processing proposals of non-fare revenue. This unique proposal which is first of its kind in Central Railway and second across Indian Railways will be processed in record time of 10 hours,” said Patil.
