BDA chief transferred in 49 days

Bengaluru: Chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday effected transfer of three IAS officers and nine IPS officers.
GC Prakash, a 2006-batch IAS officer, has been posted as the commissioner of the Bengaluru Development Authority. Prakash replaced N Manjula, who was posted on June 17. Prakash is the third BDA commissioner in a span of two years and second in 49 days. Manjula replaced Rakesh Singh after the latter’s fallout with the then BDA chairman ST Somashekhar and Congress MLAs in the city.
The government also transferred Mandya deputy commissioner Manjusree who was at loggerheads with independent MP from Mandya Sumalatha Ambareesh during the Lok Sabha polls. Manjusree is replaced by MV Venkatesh of the 2009 batch.

Senior IPS officer BR Ravikanthegowda has been posted as DIG & joint commissioner of police (traffic), Bengaluru city. Kuldeep Kumar Jain is the DCP (crime), Bengaluru. Also, A Parashiva Murthy, an ADGP, has been appointed as additional commissioner of police (crime), which sources appears to dilute the powers of city police commissioner Bhaskar Rao, who is also an ADGP.
Other transferred IPS officers: MA Saleem (ADGP, administration, Bengaluru), P Harishekharan (IGP, KSRP, Bengaluru), Ravi Channanavar (SP, Bengaluru Rural), B Dayanand (IGP, CID & economic offences), P Harsha, DIG, commissioner of police, Mangaluru), and Arunangshu Giri (DCP law and order, Mangaluru).
