Nagpur: It was a delightful evening for the music lovers of the city as Sargam organized a programme ‘Zindagi Ka Safar’ at Mor Hindi Bhavan, on Sunday. The event was dedicated to legendary singers Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi.
The event started with the song ‘Sau baar janam lenge’ from the movie ‘Ustadon Ke Ustad’ and was voiced by Nandu Andhare.
Anchor Pushpa Anand, while welcoming the audience, said, “The atmosphere is electric today as it is Friendship Day. And suiting to the occasion, we have a variety of singers to make for a lovely and melodious evening.” She also gave a peek into the lives of Kishore and Rafi.
The songs were in the form of duets and solo. First duet of the evening ‘Aaj madhosh hua’ was sung with flawless élan by Vilas Dandige and Priya Khotele. Thereafter the hall reverberated with the beautiful tunes of ‘Pal pal dil ke pass’, ‘Jane kaise kab kahan’, ‘Kya mausam hai’, ‘Koi haseena jab’ etc.
Other singers at the event included Abhilash Somkuwar, Vijay Ramteke, Rajiv Yeshroy, Sudesh Iyer, Manish Nair, Abhay Vyas, Suraj Borkar, Vijay Sonarkar, Raju Tandle, Vilas Dandige, Manish Nair, Abhay Vyas, Kunal Bhoskar, Suraj Borkar, Vinod Gaikwad and others.
Over 27 songs were performed in the evening — all evergreen hits from the yesteryears and carefully chosen to create different moods among the audience.
The accompanying artistes on stage were Mangesh Patle on keyboard, Nitin Winchurkar on octopod, Nitin on the guitar and Suresh Hiwrale on tabla. The event was conceptualized and directed by MV Unnikrishnan.
