Liquor worth Rs 25L seized in Kutiyana; 2 held

Rajkot: A total of 7,632 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 25.47 lakh were seized from a truck and two persons including a minor were held at Kutiyana check-post in Porbandar district on Sunday night.

Police said the accused, identified as Athasing Chand and his 17-year-old minor accomplice, were transporting the liquor from Amritsar in Punjab to Porbandar.
“During their interrogation, the accused said the liquor had been loaded on the truck by Bittu Singh Jat of Amritsar and Harish Pratap of Jaipur in Rajasthan. They were supposed to get instruction over phone of making the consignment’s delivery after reaching Porbandar,” said an official from Kutiyana police station.
