KOCHI: Networking and connectivity major Cisco has partnered with Google to enable connectivity for Google Station Wi-Fi, the company said in a summit on Monday.
Cisco said that its alliance with Google is a global partnership and India is the first country to go live with it.
"We are building this partnership with Google and doing a pilot in Bangalore. We also have ISP partnership with Google," said Sameer Garde, President, Cisco India & SAARC.
By September 2019, 200 locations in Bengaluru will be Wi-Fi-enabled followed by another 300 in the second phase.
Google had tied up with RailTel three years back to provide free WiFi at railway stations in India .
Google had also recently announced partnership with BSNL to expand WiFi footprint in India and now the company will be launching free WiFi with Cisco in India.
