Police have found a body during the search for a missing woman in a Logan park and creek.

Officers and SES volunteers were searching thick grass alongside Park Road in Slacks Creek.

The grim discovery comes after an extensive search was launched for Simone Rothe, 44, who has been missing since July 14.

Ms Rothe was last seen leaving a home on Westmoreland Boulevard at Springwood, which is about a kilometre from where police found the body on Monday afternoon.

Police said she had not made contact with family or friends since her disappearance and feared for her welfare as she suffered from a medical condition.
