Shami’s gets US visa after BCCI intervention

New Delhi,  After the intervention of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Indian speedstar Mohammad Shami has got the US visa to travel with Indian team for the upcoming Two T20 matches against West Indies. The pacer’s visa application was initially rejected by the US embassy in Mumbai after his police verification records were found incomplete.  He has been charge-sheeted by Kolkata police under Section 498A (dowry harassment) and 354A (sexual harassment) based on FIR filed by estranged wife Hasin Jahan, last year.

However, after the BCCI intervened, he has been issued a visa. The decision was taken after the cricket body shared the entire police report of the ongoing dispute with the American embassy, along with Shami’s achievements. The Indian cricket team takes off from Mumbai for the US on July 29, where they will be playing two T20’s against West Indies in Lauderhill, Florida before proceeding with the rest of the West Indies tour.
