Man in motorised wheelchair bashed, robbed in Brunswick

A man in a motorised wheelchair has been bashed and robbed on a street in Melbourne's inner-north.

The 56-year-old was approached by two men in Brunswick on Friday night about 7pm on Watson Street near Union Street.

One attacker punched the victim while the second offender stole his bag, which had his mobile phone, keys and cash, before fleeing.

The man was taken to hospital with minor facial injuries for observation.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the men, described African in appearance.
