A Traffic Home Guard was killed and five others seriously injured when a shuttle bus driver lost control and hit them at Prakash Nagar, Begumpet, on Sunday morning. The driver suffered an epilepsy attack, police said.

S. Prabhakar (30), attached with Begumpet Traffic Police, was doing his duty at P&T Junction when Tata Winger driver S. Ravi Krishna, engaged in shuttling software employees, suffered an epilepsy attack and lost control over the wheel.

“The bus mowed down the Home Guard and injured five people. Four bikes and one goods carrier got damaged in the accident,” Begumpet police said.

Police said that Prabhakar succumbed while being shifted to hospital. Krishna suffered another epilepsy attack soon after the accident.

A case under Section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Krishna, who is undergoing treatment.
