City witnesses cloudy condition, met predicts rainfall in next 3 days

Ludhiana: A day after heavy rains lashed the city, pleasant weather contition continued in Ludhiana with people witnessing a cloudy day on Sunday.
The met department has predicted rainfall in the next three to four days in Ludhiana.
Even as 15.9mm of rainfall was recorded in the city from 8.30am on Saturday to 8.30am on Sunday, it was partly cloudy in the city on Sunday.
The maximum (day) temperature in the city on Saturday was recorded at 30.9 degree Celsius, which was three degree less than normal.
The rainfall did have an effect on the minimum (night) temperature in the city on Sunday which was recorded at 25.1 degree Celsius, which is a degree less than the normal. The relative humidity in the city on Sunday was at 85%.
“The city will witness light to moderate rainfall till the first week of August. It is expected to keep the temperatures in the city below normal. However, the humidity level will go up,” said Surinder Paul, director, met department, Chandigarh.

The met department website in the meanwhile has predicted day temperature to rise to 34 degree Celsius till Monday after which it is expected to fall to 29 degree Celsius till Wednesday. Similarly, the night temperature is expected to rise to 27 degree Celsius till Tuesday, followed by its fall to 24 degree Celsius till Friday.
“The rainfall on Saturday has brought pleasant conditions in the city. I wish more rainfall occurs in the days to come. We didn’t use air conditioners last night and are doing away without it even today,” said Ramesh Jain, a businessman from the Civil Lines.
