Mother is caught driving with BOTH hands off the wheel as she sends a text message - with her two children in the back of the car

A mother has been filmed driving her car with both hands off the wheel so she could use her mobile phone all while her two children were in the back seat.

Concerned motorist Ashaleigh Grace filmed the woman driving in Queensland and posted it to her Facebook page on Saturday - along with some advice.

'What NOT TO DO when driving a motor vehicle with children in the car. This woman needs to be reported and her driver's licence taken off her!!!' Ms Grace wrote.

She allegedly reported the female driver to police before uploading the video to social media. 

The video has since been viewed 110,000 times and shared 843 times and more than one hundred angry social media users commented. 

'One off? I see this more and more each day as I live on the roads it's quite scary to see,' one Facebook user wrote. 

'The dangers are so evident not only to her family but others,' another added. 

One user even tagged the Queensland Police Service in the post. 

Daily Mail Australia contacted Queensland Police who weren't able to confirm if they received a report of the incident.  

The current penalty across Queensland for driving while using your mobile phone is a maximum fine of $400 and three demerit points. 

Inattention also accounted for five per cent of all road deaths in 2019 according to data released by leading insurance company Budget Direct. 

The same study also found drivers who were distracted by their mobile phones while driving were four times more likely to be in a crash. 

So far in 2019 there have been 122 fatalities on Queensland roads from a total of 111 crashes as of July 29.
