Condolences poured in over the death of veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy on Sunday.
Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, in a message, conveyed his grief over the passing away of Jaipal Reddy, who had served as MLA, MP and Union Minister. His contribution to the country’s politics was immense. Jaipal Reddy was well known for his acumen and intellect, he said.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his grief over the death of Jaipal Reddy, and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members. Known for his oratory skills, Jaipal Reddy had carved a niche for himself in Parliament and Assembly alike, he said.
Irreparable loss: Naidu
TDP national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was shocked to know about the sudden demise of Jaipal Reddy.
His death was an immense loss to the Telugu States, he observed.
TDP Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna, TDP State president K. Kala Venkata Rao, official spokesperson K. Rammohan Rao and others expressed their condolences to the bereaved family members.
JSP chief Pawan Kalyan said Jaipal Reddy was a statesman. His speeches evoked awe due to his authority over Telugu and English languages. His services to the nation, particularly to Telangana, were immense, he said.
CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu said Jaipal Reddy had left his own party, the Congress, to fight for democracy during Emergency. The former Union Minister had strived for secularism throughout his life, he said.
