On Saturday night a 21-year-old man died in a road accident in near Shahibuag area, after he was rammed by fast-moving luxury bus. In the incident, the victim died on the spot, while his friend sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
A complaint was lodged with the L-division of traffic police against the bus driver and further investigation is on. As per police officials, the deceased was identified as Subham Ravat, a resident of Shahibaug. The incident took place at Namaste Circle located in Shahibaug at around 8 pm when Subham and his friend were crossing the circle on their Active and were rammed by a fast-moving bus. After the incident the driver managed to flee from the spot leaving his bus behind. A mob gathered vandalised the bus post the incident.
People gathered alleged that the driver was inebriated. NL Desai, inspector, said, "We have lodged a case against the driver and have started an investigation to nab him. The accused is absconding and search for him is on. The bus belongs to Pooja Travels. We have contacted them to get details about the drivers wherabouts."
