Two teens feared drowned off Vasai beach

MUMBAI: Two teenagers-Sahim Ansari (19) and Sohail Khan (18)-were feared drowned while two others were rescued from Bhuigaon beach in Vasai on Friday evening. Nine friends, including the two who are missing and two were rescued, had gone to the beach for a stroll.
One of the two rescued youths, 19-year-old Salim, said that the four friends got pulled into the sea by the huge waves. "Me and a friend, Sagar, were saved by our friends," said Salim, adding that they could not hold on to Sahim and Sohail.
A search was on for the missing youths till Saturday evening. Family members of the missing teenagers hired fishing boats on Saturday morning to locate the missing youths. A missing case has been registered, said the police. Locals said the boys had ventured into the water around 5.30pm. Fishermen said the sea was choppy and visitors were warned not to venture into the water.
