VARANASI: After reeling under sultry
weather conditions for the last four days, light showers in parts of the city brought temperatures down on Saturday. The weather condition is expected to remain the same with light scattered showers till Tuesday.
The light intermittent rain brought much-needed relief to the people from high daytime temperatures. People came out of their houses to enjoy pleasant weather on
Assi Ghat,
Shivala Ghat and other public places.
According to the Met department officials, the coming week is expected to witness pleasant weather with a slight relief in high
humidity levels.
“The city is expected to witness partly cloudy sky amid the possibility of daytime temperatures dropping by a degree or two. Moderate rains are likely to hit the city after Tuesday,” said state Met official JP Gupta. He said mostly it would be scattered rain, with some parts of the city receiving light showers.
On Saturday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded to be 33.6 and 26.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
