In Uttar Pradesh, cows now have religion it seems.
Cows are Hindus in UP and their last rites shall not be done according to Muslim rituals; this a statement made by municipality chairperson's husband and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ranjit Shrivastava.
BJP leader from Barabanki Ranjit Shrivastava, in a municipality board meeting, said that the dead bodies of cows should not be buried.
According to Ranjit Shrivastava, the dead cows should not be burried since it is a Muslim ritual. He said that there should be an electric crematorium for dead cows.
Ranjit Shrivastava said, "The last rites of cows should be done according to Hindu rituals. I oppose the burial of dead cows which is a Muslim ritual."
Ranjit Shrivastava proposed that dead bodies of cows should be wrapped in white and put in a traditional Hindu pyre.
"I request Yogi ji [UP chief minister] to look into this matter. I am former chairperson of the municipality and husband of present chairperson of the municipality, hence I will try my best to get this proposal passed in the meeting so that a crematorium for cows could be built in Barabanki," Ranjit Shrivastava said.
