Kargil bravehearts remembered at SISTec

Students of Sagar Institute of Science and Technology (SISTec) Gandhi Nagar marked the 20th anniversary celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas with Veterans, Indian Army Soldiers and NCC Cadets at its campus. Capt. R. P. Singh, (Retd.) M. P. State President of Veterans India was the Chief Guest for the celebrations in presence of Major H R Choudhary (Retd.) who fought Kargil War as the Guest of Honor for the day.

The celebrations began with lighting of lamp in remembrance of commemoration of brave hearts of Operation Vijay and tribute to martyrs followed by welcome speech highlighting importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas by Dr Kuldeep Ganju, Principal SIPTec. A presentation of musical skit on patriotic songs ‘Story of a Soldier’, poem recitation to brave hearts in honor of soldiers, Sketching of martyrs and singing patriotic songs with musical instruments by SISTec NCC Cadets & students marked the day.

Motivating the cadets and students with a story and paying his tribute to martyrs Capt. R. P. Singh said, “The Kargil War will always be remembered for its strategic and tactical surprises, self-imposed national strategy to restraint the war to Kargil-Siachen sectors with strong determination of courage and leadership of our Jawans have got us Kargil win.”

Major H R Choudhary (Retd.) who fought Kargil War inspired the students by sharing his thrilling story at Kargil and highlighted the 20th anniversary victory celebrations on theme ‘Remember, Rejoice and Renew.’

Quoting the Indian Army Major said, “We ‘remember’ our martyrs, by revisiting the sacrifices and instilling pride and respect among us, we ‘rejoice’ by celebrating the victory in Kargil and we ‘renew’ our resolve to safeguard the honour of the tricolour.” He motivated the students to join NCC and be responsible citizens to serve the society.

Dr. Keshavendra Choudhary, Principal SISTec, Dr Kuldeep Ganju, Principal SIPTec, Dr. Swati Saxena, Vice Principal SISTec, Shri B.S. Kushwaha Senior Adminstrator, SISTec, Associate NCC Officer Prof Anoop Tiwari honoured the guests and the Indian Army Soldiers by presenting a memento and sapling to expressed their gratitude for enlightening and providing their guidance to students.
