PUNE: A 40-year-old woman had a
close shave early on Friday morning when she got stuck inside her house in Dhankawdi after a portion of the compound wall of the adjacent three-storeyed
building caved in.
A team of the Pune fire brigade rescued her. No one was injured in the incident.
Fire officer Sanjivan Dhavale said the compound wall of the three-storeyed house at
Savkar Chowk in Dhankawdi gaothan was made of boulders and was 16 feet high. “The wall was weakened because of rain or leakage of water from the washroom constructed near it,” Dhavale said.
Some parts of the wall caved in around 6am and debris fell in front of the main door of the house in the ground floor of the adjacent building. “The woman was alone in the house and was unable to come out of it because of the boulders,” he added.
