Chandigarh civic body fixes Rs 81 crore price for hospital site in Manimajra

The site for the hospital at Manimajra will be given for 99-year lease
CHANDIGARH: In a major property auction, the MC is going to call in bids for 2.74 acres of land for a speciality hospital in Manimajra. Situated at one of the most prime locations in the city, its reserve price has been estimated at Rs 81.07 crore.
With the major exercise, the cash-strapped civic body is aiming to generate revenue through auction of key commercial sites in the city.
Bidders can apply from Monday till August 19. To bring optimum financial competition in the project, the interested parties have been given a 21-day period to file their applications for the e-auction. Moreover, to encourage more applications and popularize this development, the MC will even personally issue letters to city-based prime hospitals to apply for the auction.

Municipal commissioner K K Yadav said, "Since we have many commercial sites in Manimajra, we have started auctioning the same. Kicking off the drive with the hospital site, we have invited e-tenders for the same. Based on the success and response to the exercise, more such land will be put up for sale as per the prepared plan and norms. The site will be given for 99-year lease period and the successful bidder will have to follow all the norms such as floor area ratio, zoning, planning etc."
"Just like this hospital site, we have other commercial and institutional sites on prime locations and main roads in Manimajra. Apart from this, we are getting land use plans ready from the urban planning department for more such sites within Manimajra," added Yadav.
