The Centre for Diabetic Foot Care and Research (CDFCR), MAHE, Manipal and Department of Physiotherapy, MCHP, in collaboration with School of Healthcare Science Faculty of Science and Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester, U.K., will organising an international workshop on assessment and management of diabetic foot, here on Saturday.
A press release issued by MAHE here said that diabetes mellitus was on the rise in India with an estimated 69.2 million adults suffering from the disease. Every 30 seconds, two people got their lower limbs amputated globally and in Indian scenario, diabetic foot care is largely neglected. An advanced diabetic foot clinic in Kasturba Hospital is being established with advanced evaluation and care through multi-disciplinary approach, the release said.
