Gorakhpur: Days after the
Congress shocked the BJP in Madhya Pradesh with two opposition MLAs cross-voting for a bill tabled in the assembly, former MP chief minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday said his party would finish the game that the Congress has begun.
Talking to reporters during his visit to Gorakhpur, Chouhan said: “The Congress has started dirty politics and they will have to pay for it. They have started the game and we’ll finish it.”
“The difference between the seats of Congress party and BJP in assembly elections was not much. The Congress is running the government with the support of BSP and other parties. BJP took a moral decision and since the Congress got a little more seats than us, we didn’t stake our claim for government formation in MP,” he said.
Chouhan attacked the Congress on the Criminal Law (MP amendment) Bill and also criticised Congress, SP and BSP for the state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh.
“SP and BSP are responsible for the present condition of UP. Nothing remains for Congress in UP as it ruled for more years than SP and BSP and did nothing for the people,” he alleged.
Asked about the rift between JD(U) and BJP in Bihar, he said, “The government is running well and if there are some trivial issues between the two parties, we’ll resolve it.”
Chouhan also condemned the sexist remark by SP leader Azam Khan against Lok Sabha speaker Rama Devi.
