Government is committed to welfare of defence personnel: Rajnath

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today asserted that the Government was committed to welfare and well being of personnel of defence forces.

“The county is proud of our defence forces. We all admire the valour and supreme sacrifices of our armed forces in protecting the integrity and sovereignty of our country, ” he said while speaking at a function organised by the Ex Servicemen Cell of the BJP to celebrate the 20th Kargil Victory day here.

Paying rich tributes to Kargil martyrs the Defence Minister assured the Ex Servicemen that their welfare is ” very close ” to his heart and he would not leave no stone unturned to ensure that all their legitimate grievances are redressed as quickly as possible by the government.

On the occasion the Ex Servicemen Cell honoured some of is veterans who on the strength of their efforts, hard work and dedication achieved great distinction in their chosen fields without any familial legacy and support.

Among others, the occasion was graced by the working President of the BJP J P Nadda, Union Minister of State and former Army Chief General V K Singh and BJP National General Secretary Bhupendra Singh Yadav.

In their short and crisp address they all lauded the role of armed forces who are doing a difficult task of defending country’s borders with aplomb.

The function was conducted by Convener Group Captain K S Bhati (Retd) and Co Convener Prabodh Kumar.
