Rajkot: The Amreli police secured 10 days remand of the six persons arrested for running public distribution system (PDS) scam by pilfering lakhs of kilogrammes of food grains meant for poor.
A three-member special investigation team (SIT) was also formed to investigate this well-oiled racket in which some masterminds breached the software to bypass the Aadhaar verification and pilfered the grains.

Police told the court that they suspect that the server room accidentally discovered adjacent to the fair price shop in Rajula marketing yard was used to regulate the black money generated by this scam.
Many other FPS owners are suspected to be involved in it and regulating their black money. Cops also have to trace the mastermind and where he has parked the illegal income. Cops will also verify bank accounts of their kin and probe possible property deals they may have done.
