Punjab: Searches to recover drugs continue on day two in Mansa

MANSA: Continuing with the searches to recover drugs, on day two, the Mansa police made searches at 10 places across villages and towns in the district. Various teams involving SP, DSP level officers and 500 police personnel were formed to conduct searches from early Friday morning. Earlier on Thursday 750 personnel had conducted searches at 9 different places in the district.

The police personnel made extensive searches in hundreds of houses in villages while searching even at places meant for keeping animals.
Mansa SSP Narinder Bhargav said that during the searches two different teams arrested 7 persons from 2 different places and recovered 35 gram and 20 gram heroin. In both the cases the arrested persons had brought the heroin from Delhi to sell it in Punjab. Apart from these two, police arrested 10 persons including a woman and recovered 3650 habit forming pills, 220 litre distilled liquor, 92 bottles of country made liquor, 105 gram poppy husk. 12 cases under NDPS and excise act have been registered.
