Expect rain from Sunday till August 1st week

Ludhiana: After the city witnessed intermittent rainfall on Wednesday, the day temperature witnessed a fall on Thursday. Meteorological department predicts that city would continue receiving rainfall for the next few days.
On Wednesday, 36mm rainfall was witnessed in the city from morning till evening 5.30pm. Till Thursday morning (8.30am), 3.1mm rainfall was received. The sky remained overcast on Thursday during the day and was accompanied with intermittent drizzling in many areas of the city. The maximum (day) temperature on Thursday was recorded at –degrees Celsius, which is –degrees –than normal. The day temperature on Wednesday was 35.6 degrees, which was two degrees more than normal.

Minimum (night) temperature on Thursday was witnessed on slightly higher side at 26.5 degrees, which is a degree more than normal, but 2.3 degrees less than on Wednesday.
“There are chances of moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday which may be recorded between 40 to 60mm. The impact of rainfall is expected to effect the day and night temperatures. The humidity levels are expected to remain high during these days,” said Chandigarh meteorological department director Surinder Paul. He added that light to moderate showers are expected from Sunday onwards till first week of August. The met department website predicts fall in day temperature to 30 degrees till July 31, whereas the night temperature may hover between 25 and 27 degrees till the said date.
