Formula one' car designed and manufactured by GNDEC students wins the race

Ludhiana: A team of students from multiple streams from GNDEC have designed, analyzed and fabricated a formula car that has won the contest in the acclaimed SUPRA event organized by SAEINDIA at BIC, Greater Noida held recently.

As many as 126 teams from the entire country participated in the contest. Many companies like Avon cycles, Ralco tyres, Kings Exports, Eastman impex, Diana mining equipment and Global Insulation Solutions, had come forward to sponsor the team . “The vehicle comprises of 373.2 cc 37NM T KTM engine which is made compatible with drive train and suspension system. The vehicle had to qualify through a number of static and dynamic rounds to mark its presence at the event,” said Captain Abhimanyu. Advisor of the team, Sukhinderpal Singh said, “The judges who were to look into the technical aspects acknowledged the vast and acute technical knowledge with which students are equipped. And that's something which makes the institution proud.” Principal Sehjpal Singh, and head of mechanical department Paramjit Singh Bilga applauded the efforts of the students and faculty. They added that experience gained by the students in such projects would now equip the students with professional and social skills, essential for their career in the future. They said that this recognition for the students would now motivate other students to participate in these type of projects in future.
The team included Abhimanyu Vishwakarma, Prashant Yadav, Vishnu Singh, Varun Kashyap, Arshdeep Singh, Nitish Goyal, Ambika Singh, Akshay Kumar, Ajeet Shrivas, Damandeep Singh, Rahul Budhiraja, Gurleen Singh, Tarendeep Singh, Bharat Goyal, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Kumar, Ujwal Sood, Kushagra Singh & Amteswar Singh.
