Coimbatore: The rural police arrested a 23-year-old man for possession of ganja for sales at Chinnamathampalayam near Periyanaickenpalayam on Thursday evening.
Periyanaickenpalayam police sub-inspector Selvanayagam and team were on rounds near the Chinnamathampalayam grave yard when they found J Anandakumar of Thennur in Trichy with the contraband. Police arrested him and seized 1kg ganja, Rs 650 and a moped from him.
Anandakumar was produced before a judicial magistrate and was later remanded in judicial custody. He was lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
