A photo exhibition was held to mark 20 years of India’s thumping win over Pakistan in Kargil region. The exhibition was organised by National Monuments Authority, Ministry of Culture in New Delhi. The theme of the exhibition was ‘India's Monuments of Valour and Victory’. India has a long and glorious tradition of valour and conquest going back thousands of years. Brave soldiers fighting form an integral part of paintings and art forms. Ancient relics from medieval India at places like Sanchi and Khajuraho are a living testimony. This was a tribute to the valour of our Armed Forces who fought in adversity and triumphed in 1999. We also remember the martyrdom of our brave hearts who laid down their lives for the motherland.
