Pilot, passenger have near-miss after crash at Jandakot Airport
A pilot and his passenger have had a near-miss at an airport south of Perth on Thursday.
About 4.30pm, the light plane was attempting to land at Jandakot Airport when its left wheel buckled on the runway.
The malfunction meant the plane's wing was driven into the runway before the plane came to a stop.
According to Nine News Perth reporter Jacquelin Robson, emergency services attended the scene shortly after the crash.
"The two men inside the plan managed to escape unhurt," she said. "They were checked over by paramedics as emergency services cleaned up a fuel leak."
"The second runway was being used this afternoon as the scene was cleared, but [it was] certainly a close call for those two men involved this afternoon."
The scene was cleared later on Thursday evening.
