MARKETS LIVE: Mid-caps outperform benchmarks, Shriram Transport jumps 7%

Benchmark indices were flat, fluctuating between gains and losses in Thursday's afternoon session ahead of the F&O expiry for the July series.

The S&P BSE is trading flat at 37,846, with IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, Vedanta, Powergrid, and Bajaj-Auto among its top gainers. The broader Nifty50 index was also flat at 11,272.

All the sectoral indices expect Auto (down 0.5 per cent), PSU Bank (down 1.2 per cent), and Nifty Metal (down 0.8 per cent) indexes were trading in the green.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 70 points, or 0.51 per cent, higher at 13,779, while the S&P BSE SmallCap index was ruling at 13,028, down 16 points, or 0.12 per cent. 

RESULTS TODAY

Tata Motors is scheduled to announce its June quarter earnings today, and analysts expect the decrease in volume across all segments to impact both the company's revenue and bottom-line. READ MORE

As many as 41 other companies are scheduled to declare their earnings today.
