Once the beautification of Bhadrakali tank bund in Warangal town is completed, there would be a rush of tourists from across the country, said District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil.
Inspecting the ongoing work as part of the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), the Central government’s ambitious project aimed at holistic development of heritage cities, the Collector expressed displeasure over slow pace of work. He said the contractors have taken more time to complete the work than the stipulated time, and if they delayed further, they would be black-listed.
Mr. Patil along with Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairman Marri Yadava Reddy and Municipal Commissioner N. Ravi Kiran inspected the work progress.
He wanted the officials to illuminate the hillock adjacent to Bhadrakali temple on the lines of Golconda and Charminar. He also asked the officials to engage the services of Narendra Naidu, the C&MD of AV & Multimedia Consultancy Company, under whom beautification of Golconda and Charminar was carried out. The Collector said the walking track at Bhadrakali lakefront would be a huge draw once the work gets completed.
He instructed the officials to review the progress of the work on lakefront every day.
Retired professor M. Panduranga Rao, KUDA EE Bheem Rao, DE Venkateshwarlu, AE Siddharth, GWMC SE Bikshapathi, EE Rajaiah, DE Santhosh and Lee Associates team leader Anand Voleti were among others present.
