Central Building and other Construction Workers’ Advisory Committee chairman V. Sreenivas Naidu has alleged that the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government’s policies have proved to be a bane for 17 lakh construction workers in the State due to lack of work for the last couple of months.
According to him, all the project works have been stopped with proposed reverse tendering system and there is a delay in framing new sand policy.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, he alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was adopting anti-wroker policies and it was evident with the stoppage of construction activity across Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Srinivas Naidu charged that the previous TDP government diverted around ₹3,000-crore funds of the advisory committee for ‘Chandranna Bhima’ and other schemes.
He made it clear that his advisory committee would recommend release of ₹1,500 crore to Andhra Pradesh only after release of white paper over the usage of funds in the last six years.
Earlier, BJP leaders Bhavireddy Shivaprasad Reddy, Kusumanchi Subba Rao, Teegala Harinath, Badangipalli Ashok, Bora Jaggarao and others interacted with Mr. Sreenivas Naidu who is in-charge of the party membership programme in Vizianagaram and Gajapathinagaram.
Special funds sought
They sought special funds for the development of backward Vizianagaram district.
They said that many workers migrated to other places due to lack of job opportunities in the district.
The issue would be brought to the notice of the BJP central leadership and the Union government in a couple of weeks.
