Thakre gets minister of state post

Nagpur: BJP corporator Avinash Thakre has been appointed as vice-president of Maharashtra State OBC Finance and Development Corporation Ltd. The post is equivalent to minister of state status.
A close aide of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Thakre hails from Mali community, and is a resident of Somalwada. He has replaced minister of state Madan Yerawar. Cabinet minister Ram Shinde is president of the corporation.

A three-time corporator, Thakre has been given responsibility to improve party’s network in Katol-Kalmeshwar assembly constituency. He is also likely to get BJP ticket from this constituency from where former MLA Ashish Deshmukh resigned and joined Congress some months ago.
Thakre is the third close aide of CM to get a high profile post. Earlier, former corporator Munna Yadav had got the post of chairman of Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, and ruling party leader in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation became chairman of the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation. All three are from Fadnavis’ South-West constituency and play crucial role for the CM.
