Track maintenance to hit Mum-Pune trains

PUNE: The Mumbai Railway Division has decided to upgrade infrastructure in the Mumbai-Pune rail section. This follows incidents of boulders falling on tracks and the derailing of goods trains in the ghat section which disrupted rail traffic. 

“Services were disrupted due to cases of boulders falling in south-east ghat from mid-June, affecting mobility of trains. The Mumbai Division has undertaken infrastructure upgradation works to improve mobility. Track maintenance work is being done by the division in the Mumbai-Pune rail section,” said the Central Railway in a press statement. 

Five trains running between Pune and Mumbai will be cancelled, while 10 trains have been short-terminated and a train diverted via Daund from July 26 to August 9 for upgradation work. 

Pune-Mumbai-Pune Deccan, Pune-Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express, CSMT-Gadag Express and Pune-Panvel-Pune Passenger will be cancelled from July 26 to August 9.

Train number 11140 Gadag-CSMT will be cancelled from July 27 to August 10. 

Train number 11030 Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus Kolhapur-Mumbai Koyna Express will be short-terminated at Pune and will remain cancelled between Pune and Mumbai. Train no 11029 CSMT Mumbai-Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus Kolhapur-Koyna Express will remain cancelled between Mumbai and Pune and will run from Pune with revised timing at 4 pm and will be cancelled from July 26 to August 8. Train number 11023/24 CSMT-Kolhapur-CSMT Sahyadri Express, train number 17317/18 Hubballi-LTT Express will be cancelled between Mumbai and Pune from July 25 to August 8. Train number 17614/13 Huzur Sahib Nanded-Panvel Express will be cancelled between Panvel and Pune and it will run from Pune. Train number 07617/18 Hazur Sahib Nanded-Panvel Holiday Special will be cancelled between Panvel and Pune from July 27 to August 4 and it will run from Pune. 

Train number 11025/26 Bhusaval-Pune-Bhusaval Express will be diverted via Daund-Manmad instead of Kalyan-Panvel-Karjat from July 26 to August 9.
